Overview

This article is about the series. For the species referred to with the same name, see Disassembly Drones.Murder Drones is an Australian-American computer-animated science, fiction, horror, and comedy web series created by American animator and show-runner Liam Vickers, produced by Glitch Productions, and funded by Screen Australia for GLITCH. It is the third animated series created by Glitch Productions, after Meta Runner and Sunset Paradise, which are all available on their Youtube channel.

The series was teased on June 25th, 2021, and announced on October 8th, along with the release of a trailer. The Pilot premiered on October 29th, 2021. After the second episode released, the following episodes were set to release every 2-3 months, according to the Season 1 trailer.

The series has been met with positive reviews by consumers, who praise it for its high quality animation, realistic voice acting, exciting action scenes, its blend of both comedy and horror elements, as well as its in-depth worldbuilding.

Synopsis[]

A heart-warming story of destroying mankind, Uzi, a sardonic teen Worker Drone gone rogue befriends N, an excitable optimistic Murder Drone sent to destroy her, creating what we can assume is a very bad relationship for all humans.

Main Protagonists[]

  • Uzi (voiced by Elsie Lovelock) is the main protagonist of the series. She's your typical angsty teen who plans to kill all humans.
  • N (voiced by Michael Kovach) is the deuteragonist of the series, a male Disassembly Drone who befriends Uzi and tries his best to prevent himself from being useless.
  • V (voiced by Nola Klop) is a female sad*stic and impulsive Disassembly Drone who soon reveals to have more than meets the eye.

Main Antagonists[]

  • Doll (voiced by Emma Breezy), a pivotal character that has a connection to the AbsoluteSolver, using it to her advantage.
  • Cyn (voiced by Allanah Fitzgerald) is one of the maid drones in Elliott Manor and physical embodiment and AI of the AbsoluteSolver.
  • The AbsoluteSolver (voiced by Allanah Fitzgerald) is the overarching antagonist, a mysterious program with unknown motives which appears to grant drones the power to break the laws of physics and manipulate matter.

Supporting characters[]

  • J (voiced by Shara Kirby) is a Disassembly Drone described as a "lethal workaholic".
  • Tessa (voiced by Daisy Rose) is a human who may be the last of her species after the AbsoluteSolver destroyed Earth.
  • Thad (voiced by Sean Chiplock) is a robot jock, and the only one of Uzi's classmates that is friends with her.
  • Lizzy (voiced by Caitlin Dizon) is a popular kid in the school hierarchy.
  • Khan (voiced by David J. Dixon) is Uzi's father and is obsessed with doors.
  • Nori (voiced by Darcy Maguire) is Uzi's mother who was infected by the AbsoluteSolver and passed it on to Uzi when she was born.

  • Yeva is Doll's deceased mother who was friends with Nori.
  • Braidon (voiced by Michael Kovach) is a student whose head was set on fire by Uzi.

  • James Elliott (voiced by David J.G. Doyle) is Tessa's deceased father.

Production[]

Liam Vickers had previously achieved notoriety for his 2D animated series CliffSide and Internecion Cube, both of which are unfinished.

On August 6th, 2021, Liam released the full version of "Disassembly Required", the song that plays in the teaser. The video description reveals the character seen in the teaser to be "V", one of the titular Disassembly Drones.

By the time the series was announced, it had been worked on for one year.

On February 18th, 2022, Glitch Productions announced the full series is in development now at the studio, with a glimpse of Uzi in a new, unknown location.

On October 28th, 2022, the official trailer for the first season dropped revealing that the second episode will be released on November 18th, with the rest of the episodes releasing every 2-3 months.
